I got started in the publishing business by re-publishing two books that were in the public domain.
One book was on “Mind Reading” the other was on “Day Trading”… both books still make me money even after 7 years! I don’t have to pay royalties or a fee to use and sell these books - I make 100% profit on each one because they are in the ‘public domain’!
Once you have a public domain project done, it will earn you an income for years and years. That’s why I am so adamant about using “public domain” as means to get your info-business started.
It’s SOOO easy!
The other day I was looking through my personal library of books and discovered yet another book that I could re-publish! It was sitting right there on my self and I had completely ignored it!
It just shows you that opportunities for information publishing are all around you.
This morning I went to an estate sale and found a book that was obvioulsy self-published in the 1970’s- and guess what - it’s in the public domain! It’s easy to tell, once you know how.
Yes, even books published up to 1978 could be in the public domain… in fact there are many works published even this year that are in the public domain!
The title of the book I found this morning is “The Emergency Diet Plan- When You Have To Lose Weight Fast!”
What a great title! And with the popularity of various diet plans it will be an easy sale!
These are the kinds of opportunities that are available to you too- all you have to do is identify potential ‘public domain’ works and republish them!
If you were walking down the street and a $100 bill drifted in front of you, would you hestitate to pick it up?
Neither would I, but there are pictures, artwork, plays, courses, books and reports that are in the public domain right now that could make you a fortune - if - you knew how to identify them!!
That’s EXACTLY what my Public Domain Reports do -it shows you STEP-BY-STEP how to identify a work so you are 100% sure it’s in the public domain and how to make it an OPPORTUNITY.

1Hi Dave, I’m fascinated by your public domain ideas and am seriously considering coughing up $39.95 to buy your 10 reports. But..My question is, are your reports US specific? I live in Perth, Western Australia, way down under. Is the information you provide going to be useful to me or will it only be useful to US citizens.
I woud value your feedback.

2The 10 reports primarily deals with US based works, but as I’ve discovered, and this is not legal advice, the copyright laws in Australia, the UK and almost all other parts of the developed world have signed what’s called The Berne Convention. The Berne Convention requires countries to extend modern copyrights to a work for 50 years after the death of the author. As far as copyright expiration goes, Australia uses what’s called the “Rule of the Shorter Term”. There really isn’t space to deal with this entire rule so I’ll try to summarize it here: If you want to publish a work originally created in the US, you can if the copyright has expired IN THE USA even if the Australia copyright law states that it won’t expire for another 10 years IF it was published in Australia. In other words, IF the US copyright expired BEFORE the Australia one WOULD HAVE expired it’s safe to say it’s in the public domain and you can re-publish it even if it was created in the US- that’s the “Shorter Term Rule”. The US term of copyright in this case is SHORTER than the Australia copyright. There is a web site for Australia copyright rules with a lot more info on this than I have space to write that may be helpful: http://www.copyright.org.au/. In addition get a copy of “The Copyright Handbook” and “The Public Domain” by Stephen Fishman. Amazon probably has it.
