I’m not going sugar-coat what it takes to be a success online.

What you do with your life is your responsibility. You are the only one responsible for what you have and where you are in life right now.

Once I took total, 100% responsibility for my debt, my failures and my position in life I was FREE.

Suddenly *I* was in control.

I set a course of action, created a plan and just plowed ahead.

You don’t stop and question what you’re doing, once you’ve decided on a course of action - you just DO IT.

You stop once in a while to measure your effectiveness, but basically you need to be extremely single-minded.

The reality of the Internet is that it can be anything you want it to be. Here’s why this is such an important thing to learn:

There is no ‘boss’ looking over your shoulder telling you what you have to do every minute.

You are 100%, totally on your own.

That means you have to have the discipline, the courage and the strength to carry on with your plans despite setbacks, bad moods, the weather, money problems, spouse problems, kid problems, leaking roofs, etc, etc…and follow your plan.

This is the very SAME REASON the majority of people lose money as ‘traders’ in the stock market- too much freedom to do anything they want, no discipline and no plan. They fly by the seat of their pants and end up broke.

How do you get started?

You gotta get that yellow-pad out and write down a plan for your business!!!

If you decide you need to write an article a day to post to your website… you DO IT no matter what.

If you need to write a message to your list, unless your computer fails and your hard disc crashes, you DO IT.

If you need to place some more advertising to generate leads for your business, but you’re too busy doing something else, you’re going to fail… so you just DO IT ANYWAY.

Remember, there’s no one that will come up behind you and tell you what to do- maybe for the first time in your life you have total autonomy- for better of for worse.

If you decide that watching TV is more important than working on your web business, then you’re not disciplined enough to create your own web business.

You have to change… you have to take control (of youself!) and you have to take responsibility for your time.

ULTIMATE SUCCESS SECRET #2:

Your NUMBER ONE job is to build your list with new prospects every single day. Period.

If you cringe at getting emails from customers and prospects that criticize you… you are not cut out for a web business.

If you can’t take some rejection, criticism, or hate mail then you probably will not succeed.

Most people quit when it starts getting tough, and I’m not advocating you get tough in response, but I am advocating that if you get some flack for what you’re doing online then you need to put it in perspective.

You cannot be ALL THINGS to ALL PEOPLE.

Face it, some people will like you (even love you) and some will not. They will even hate you.

Someone commented to me once that they thought a particular Internet ‘guru’ was loved by everybody! From their perspective it looks like they ARE loved by everyone becuase of all the glowing ‘testimonials’ on the guru’s website!

Well, guess what? I bet that ‘guru’ gets as much nasty email from customers and propects as he does ‘nice’ one’s. He just doesn’t put the nasty one’s on his site (for good reason
Once you expand your customer base to more people than 10, you’ll be getting calls and emails from people who will have an opinion of you for better or worse.

Take this to heart: Be good to the people who like you and forget the rest.

If they don’t like you for some reason, that’s their problem and who cares. You can’t take it personally.

I believe the majority of people end up failing online because they have not developed a personality or perspective that helps them deal with constant rejection and criticism.

If you were totally FEARLESS would a few nasty emails stop you?

You need to be totally fearless. You need to shake criticism off like water on a ducks’ back. But you also need to be aware of yourself enough to LISTEN to criticism and learn from it, especially if the criticism has some truth in it.

Learn from it, but don’t let it affect you.

All successful Internet entrepreneurs take action - but they do NOT do everything themselves.

You can’t watch TV all day and have a successful business.

You need to do something everyday that builds your list, creates more content and creates more ads or marketing pieces- but it doesn’t mean YOU have to do it.
