Someone once said, “Nothing happens until someone sells something” and I mentioned this quote in my email newsletter last week.

Well, Ed (a subscriber), set me straight and told me exactly WHO said that…

Thank you Ed!

Here’s part of Ed’s email:

RE: “Nothing Happens Until Somebody Sells Something”…

That ’somebody’ was Red Mottley…back in the latter 1940’s after WW-2.

He was a super salesman of his day…along with the “Sell The Sizzle, Not The Steak”, marketing master, Ben Sweetland.

Red wanted to take a semi-truck full of Refrigerators to Alaska to sell to the Eskimos.

The manufacturer told him that he was crazy… “Everything freezes in Alaska!”…

Red replied…”Exactly’…that’s why I’ll sell them all fast” …which he did…it was a monumental Succe$$ story.

Red Mottley introduced Refrigeration to Alaska!

I know you are sick of all the promotions that you get everyday… you sign up for a newsletter from that guru or this guru and you think, “What the %^&* all I get is sales pitch after sales pitch!”

Time for straight shootin’:

Real students of marketing love to get sales pitches.

I know I do.

Why?

Because you can ‘learn’ from them… see what other marketers are doing, offers used, sales angles, phrases, closings, intros… etc

A great sales pitch gets me excited…

If the idea of getting another sales pitch turns you off, then think of it as a learning experience.

If you still hate it… then you have a choice to make.

You see, I discovered a real secret about making money.

Not a ‘made up’ secret… not a secret that everyone knows about already. A REAL secret.

At least I have NEVER heard anyone talk about this before… nobody.

And, I’m going to fully reveal, without cost, what this real secret is in the next letter…
