Today, I want to share something with you that is extremely powerful…

Let me preface it by saying I have enjoyed and profited greatly from Internet marketing over the years.

As you probably know (or maybe not) I started online in 1996 and went full-time in 1999.

The first few years were tough- I lost about $60,000 trying to figure out how to make this “Internet marketing” thing work. It was the toughest period of my entire life.

I was down, way down and nearly bankrupt.

Then I discovered a few secrets about marketing online, started making a lot of money and I also started sharing my results with my subscribers.

The response was overwhelming… suddenly, to some people, I became a ‘guru’ of sorts - although that was never my intention …and it still isn’t.

I never set out to be an “Internet Marketing Guru” - even now I cringe when I hear ‘guru’ and my name juxtaposed.

My life hasn’t changed that much since 1996… except I have a much better understanding of how the marketing process works and what it really takes to make money.

It’s harder than I thought it would be… I “thought” it would be easy, then I found out it was “work”. Ughh… but I persisted, and through nothing but dogged-perserverance continued to make headway.

A few years ago I put everything I know about succeeding online (at that time) in my online course, “You Can! Make Your Living Online!” and my follow-up course, “Advanced Email Marketing”.

At that time I was making $10k to $15k a month… this year, again, I have increased my monthly income to about $50k a month - with some months exceeding $60,000!

Making the jump from $500 a month to $10,000 was hard, but not really as hard as I thought it would be, believe it or not.

The biggest difference in the amount of money I made was the result of one thing and one thing only: My beliefs.

When I was making $500 a month I had a VERY difficult time BELIEVING I could EVER make $10,000 a month!

It seemed IMPOSSIBLE to me! REALLY, REALLY IMPOSSIBLE!

I seemed so out-of-reach I could NOT think of myself making ten-thousand-dollars-a-month… it was totally UN-believable.

But then I DID IT, and it wasn’t so hard to believe anymore.

Then, when I was making $10k to $15k a month, my wife said, “Honey, I think you can make $50,000 a month”.

I said, “Yeah, right!… I can barely make $10k each month, how am I supposed to make $50,000 a MONTH??!”

I couldn’t believe I could do it. It seemed IMPOSSBLE to go from making $10k to FIFTY-THOUSAND-DOLLARS a month!

“IMPOSSIBLE!!” It seemed to far to reach - I kept saying, “there’s no way I can do it”…

But then I DID IT, and it wasn’t so hard to believe anymore.

Now I realize that THERE IS NO LIMIT to my income except the limits I place on myself through my beliefs. It’s true for me and it’s true for you.

What do you believe? Your belief’s are powerful things, so be careful what you believe.

Especially about yourself.

I mentioned in the beginning of my course, “You Can! Make your Living Online!” that you have to be careful what you believe. You may believe something that is totally false, that is totally wrong and it could be affecting your entire life.

For example, let me ask you, “how much are you worth”?

If you actually put a dollar figure on that you’re wrong.

Do you believe that you can actually place a ‘dollar limit’ on your worth?

You’re true worth cannot be measured in dollars and cents-your true worth is ‘infinite’. You cannot measure your true worth because it’s infinite.

So, if your value cannot be measured, because you’re value is infinite, then what does that say about “money” to you?

Money is only a measure of the exchange.

In other words, money is an idea of value.

It’s the idea that, if, instead of exchanging a pig for a cow, let’s give the pig a dollar value and exchange the currency we created instead of the pig.

Currency is a creation. It isn’t real. It’s an idea. It only has the value we place on it.

Let me give you an example of how a currency can change based on the value we give it.

I can’t imagine going through a civil war, but my wife has.

She grew up in Cambodia. When she was 13 her country was turned upside down. A civil war broke out that killed millions of people - it was genocide really.

Suddenly the Cambodian currency was worthless. You could not use the currency, the Riel, in Cambodia! Even if you gave someone 100,000,000 Riel they would not take it for payment for even a single loaf of bread!

They used gold, silver, diamonds and bartered for what they wanted.

Why? Currency isn’t real - it’s an idea. You could say that the ONLY real value currency has is FAITH.

It’s the FAITH of the people that hold that currency that gives it ANY value at all.

A lot of people have FAITH in the US Dollar because they have faith in the USA. So it is valuable.

Cambodia does. It uses US dollars more than it’s own currency, the Riel.

Even now, after years of relative peace in Cambodia the currency of Cambodia is still almost worthless. It takes about 4,188 Riel (the Cambodian currency) to purchase ONE US dollar. Four thousand to one!

A meal at a restaurant in Cambodia that costs $20 US dollars would cost $82,360 in the local currency!

Why?

Because no one has much faith in the Cambodian government, so their currency is practically worthless.

My point is that you are driven by your belief’s. Whatever you believe, will be your reality. Scary, huh? That’s why I say, “Be careful what you believe”.

If you believe you cannot make a lot of money it’s only because you think you have nothing of value that you can offer in exchange or believe you’re not worth a lot of money.

We’ve already established that you are infinite and cannot be measured in dollars and cents, so NEVER feel like you are ‘not worth anything’… that is NOT true!

Listen … you have creativity, you have imagination and your have experience.

With those three things you can develop something of value that people would be willing to exchange money to obtain it anywhere in the world.

I told you last week I would share with you an offline project I’m doing.

In fact, this project is the reason I went from $15k a month to over $50k+ a month in my business.

The secret is to capture the mailing address of every visitor to your website- it’s no longer enough to capture name and email addresses only. You have to be thinking multiple ‘touches’-email, phone, direct mail, fax, etc…

This is a more sophisticated marketing process than email marketing alone and it’s much more powerful.

I talked about this more than a year ago in this newsletter and if you paid attention then you are profiting from that advice now.

You’re leaving money on the table- lots of money- if you’re not doing this offline stuff.
